Treatment of low back pain through acupuncture

June 9, 2016 - The 9th issue of the series “Rational Use of Medicines: grounding in therapeutic procedures and in the macro processes of Pharmaceutical Assistance” was launched. The publication, which has the theme “Low back pain: how to treat”, is produced by the Representation of the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO) in Brazil together with researcher Lenita Wannmacher.

“The treatment of low back pain is a challenge for healthcare professionals. Its high prevalence determines high costs to the health system.

The search for effective treatment modalities for improving pain and associated functional disability is a priority”, says Viviane Bortoluzzi Frasson, author of the new issue.
