The University Of Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) is a land-grant institution located as a hub of agriculture of the the Eastern Shores of Maryland and Virginia “Delmarva” peninsula. The Delmarva economy is mainly dependent on agriculture. Therefore, UMES is maintaining its long-standing commitment to meeting the workforce and agricultural economic development needs of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and the nation. The Department of Natural Sciences (DNS) offers both Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in different disciplines of agriculture and natural sciences.
