About Sexual Problems in Women

A sexual problem is anything that interferes with a womans satisfaction with a sexual activity. A sexual problem, or sexual dysfunction, refers to a problem during any phase of the sexual response cycle that prevents the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction from the sexual activity.

The sexual response cycle has four phases: excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution. The common sexual problems in women include lack of sexual desire, inability to become aroused, lack of orgasm, or sexual climax and painful intercourse.

These problems may have physical or psychological causes. Physical causes may include conditions like diabetes, heart disease, nerve disorders, or hormone problems. Psychological causes may include work-related stress and anxiety.
