About Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomics is part of a field called personalized medicine that aims to customize health care, with decisions and treatments tailored to each individual patient in every way possible. Pharmacogenomics deals with new innovations in the field of personalized medicines and innovations in customized drug discovery using proteome technology. It explains about the inherited genetic differences in drug metabolic pathway which can affect individual response to drugs include therapeutic effect as well as adverse effects and also studies various aspects of drug design, drug development and drug delivery. Pharmacogenomics is the branch of medical sciences dealing with the use of DNA and other amino acid sequence data in the process of drug development and testing. It deals with individual genetic variation with drug responses.
