About Floodway Analysis
Floodway analysis is the channel of a river or other watercourse and the adjacent land areas that must be reserved in order to discharge the base flood without cumulatively increasing the water surface elevation more than a designated height. These are the areas of high velocity and depth where the flood hazard is high. Water resources are sources of water that are useful or potentially useful. Water degradation decreases water quality and water quantity, which results in the growth of pathogens and leads to great risk of both human and animal’s health. Uses of water include agricultural, industrial, household, recreational and environmental activities. Surface water hydrology is a field that encompasses all surface water of the globe. Surface water hydrology relates the dynamics of flow in surface water systems. This is a subset of the hydrologic cycle that does not include atmospheric, and ground waters. Watershed hydrology is the science of surface and ground waters on landscape scale. Watershed is a natural or disturbed system that functions in a manner to collect store and discharge water to a common outlet such as a large stream, lake or ocean.
