About Animal Husbandry

Animal Husbandry is the field of veterinary study responsible for all aspects of livestock and poultry development, production, processing and marketing of livestock and poultry and their products through augmentation of production of milk, meat, eggs and wool. Animal health plays a very key role in the prevention of animal diseases and which helps to maintain a healthy stock for optimum production. A suitable infrastructure should be provided for breeding, feeding and management of livestock and poultry, processing of milk, meat and eggs and marketing of livestock and livestock products. Animal Husbandry is also engaged in providing the required training support to livestock producers so as to promote livestock and poultry with consequent generation of maximum production and economy.
