Abstract
Role of Lipid Peroxidation and Total Antioxidant Activity in Women with Preeclampsia
Preeclampsia, a multisystem syndrome in pregnancy, is still a very important cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Preeclampsia, recognized by ancient Greeks, was only sporadically investigated until late last century, current literatures still labeling this disorder a “disease of theories”. Thus, not surprisingly, the new millennium was started unable to predict or revent preeclampsia, and management strategies remain just supportive, with pregnancy termination still the only definitive “therapy.
