Abstract
The additive manufacturing has gained considerable interests in the last few years due to the innovation of inexpensive 3D printers and open source software that drives the printers. The idea of converting any design into a physical object has become the center of attention among engineers, scientists, architects and hobbyists. Although we have plenty of valuable information available online to educate ourselves, it’s not easy to build a 3D printer on your own from scratch. In pursuit of this goal I wanted to learn how to design delicate components that could be used inside 3D printer as well as in medical devices in healthcare. I started creating complex objects such as flowers and birds that could also have meaningful applications. I wanted to share my learnings through this speech by presenting (1) challenges I faced as a beginner and how I overcame them, (2) my motivation to start a YouTube channel focused on 3D printing.
