This session aims to introduce participants to the concept of study designs and to outline the strengths and weaknesses associated with the observational study designs used in evidence based medicine. By the end of this lecture the participants will be able to learn • The unique characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of common observational research study designs • Cross-sectional, case reports and case series • Prospective & retrospective studies • The levels of evidence and how study design affects the strength of evidence

Skilled in ClinicalResearch, Medical Education, Epidemiology, Data Analysis, and Program Evaluation. Strong education professional with a PhD focused in Biostatistics from Tulane University.
