Introduction: Primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of uterine cervix is extremely rare and has been reported only in 20 cases to date.

Case Study: A 53 years old woman was admitted to our gynecologic oncology department due to persistent abnormal vaginal bleeding during last four months. Gynecologic examination obtained 3-4 cm mass, originating from the endocervix. Biopsy revealed a signet ring cell-type of mucinous adenocarcinoma. Systemic examination confirmed no metastasis and suspected primary sites were excluded after mammography and abdomen-pelvic computed tomography. The patient underwent chemo radiotherapy. Post chemo radiotherapy showed reduction in the mass of the cervix. It is important to ensure that the signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of cervix is primary malignant and exclude the possibility of metastasis from other organs. Chemo radiotherapy seems to be effective in this primary cervical signet ring cell adenocarcinoma case. The prognosis of primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix is still unclear because very rare incidence of cases. 20 cases of primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix were reported so far and more case reports are needed to determine the prognosis and effectiveness of therapy.
