Abstract
Periodontal diseases are group of diseases which affect the supporting structures of the teeth .Over 700 species of microbes including viruses and fungi dwell in the mouth .Among them a few microbes are set to cause not only damage periodontal structures but can travel to remote parts of the body and can cause coronary artery disease, stroke, pre term low birth weight babies and diabetes mellitus The whole idea of this presentation is to evolve a new concept of Pathobiology of periodontitis and to discuss how periodontitis may influence general health and susceptibility to systemic diseases Microbes like p gingival is, chlamydia have triggered in periodontal diseases. Similarly viruses like cytomegalovirus and herpes simplex can cause thrombosis Anathemas to understand the pathobiology is made and discuss the consequences could help in averting the possible threat .Hence enable good periodontal environment and “Natural Teeth for Life”
