Abstract


Statement of the Problem: When a disaster occurs members of the healthcare professionals are often among the first individuals to respond to the situation. As nurses make up the majority of health care providers they represent an indispensable workforce during disasters. The purpose of this study is to assess the nurse's knowledge of attitudes, practices regarding disaster preparedness Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: A cross-sectional descriptive study was utilized to conduct the study. The Question forms elicit about the knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards Disaster Management. In this study randomly selected nurses were included. Findings: The nurses in this study were cooperative and the present study results show the level of knowledge and practice were below average with a positive level of attitude towards disaster management. Conclusion & Significance: Nurses require integration of theory and practice teaching course about disaster management and it should be added in the nursing curriculum and provided in respect to their semester. Recommendations are elicited through the disaster-related education. It is in this way foremost for wellbeing organization to direct catastrophe related instruction to enhance their insight and practice towards debacle administration
