Abstract
Traumatic brain injury happens when the head hits something violently or is hit again and again, or when an object goes through the skull and into the brain. TBI can cause hormone problems. A person with TBI may have hormone problems right away or months or even years after the injury. Two important parts of the endocrine system the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus is located in or near the brain. TBI can injure them, causing hormone problems. This a case report of a traumatic brain injury present with lethargy, weakness, anorexia, nausea & vomiting, weight loss and diagnosed to have adrenal insufficiency. After fluids, electrolytes and hydrocortisone replacement general condition of the patient improved.
