Abstract
Several techniques were used to evaluate the marginal and internal fit in fixed prosthodontics. Direct-view techniques measure the gap between crowns and dies at the margin but not internally, using a microscope at different magnifications. Replica technique can measure both gaps. The micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) was recently proposed. Few studies considered this methodology as a reliable and non-destructive technique to evaluate the internal and marginal adaptation of dental restorations. This technique allows 2D and 3D investigation of the marginal and internal gaps at multiples sites and directions in a non-destructive manner. The aim of this study is to use a new measuring technique to evaluate the fit of novel materials and to compare results to that of conventional materials.
