Abstract
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory skin condition which primarily affects intertriginous areas. It develops around puberty. Females are 3 times more than males. Life style has an important role in its pathogenesis. Aetiology and management will be discussed in the conference. No pathognomonic test exists and biopsy is rarely required. Diagnostic criteria, history, laboratory studies and imaging studies may help in diagnosis of HS. Hurley staging system is the simplest and widely used system to assess severity and extent of HS. HiSCR has been recently used to evaluate therapeutic outcomes in patients with HS. Presence of TNFalfa, IL17and IL23 in HS plays an important role in its pathogenesis. Combined therapy has an important role in its management.
