Abstract

Innovation is one of the most important elements in research endeavor. Given the complexity involved in challenging scaffold of molecules of pharmaceutical significance, one has to engage in chemistry innovation pertinent to the synthesis of medicines. Process research pertaining to drug synthesis at generic pharmaceutical industry imposes a great challenge due to cut throat competition. Few case studies involving innovation based on fundamental understanding of chemistry will be presented.

Rakeshwar Bandichhor holds a Doctorate in Chemistry from University of Lucknow/University of Regensburg, Germany and worked as Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Regensburg, Germany, University of Pennsylvania and Texas A&M University. He has more than 150 papers including patents and book chapters published/accepted in various international journals and contributed to more than 60 academic national and international conferences. He has won various awards in his career.
