Abstract
Development of dental materials and new technologies leads to common of aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry. Porcelain laminate veneer restorations are based on the treatment of problems such as discoloration, crowding and deformity in the aesthetic area, gingival recession accompanying dental enamel deformation, and hypersensitivity related to cases where conservative treatment is ineffective, by removing the least amount of material from existing teeth. 181 porcelain lamina veneer restorations from 1 to 11 years were followed up clinically retrospectively. Final restoration patient pleasure, bruxism, deep-bite, gingivectomy, timedependent change of parameters available in modified USPHS criteria, relationship between smoking, tea-coffee consumption-coloring, preparation type-restoration fracture, timedependent survival rates were followed and recorded. The results showed that pressure changes in anterior, right and left region had no effect on restoration failure. Also bruxism, gingivectomy, deep-bite had no effect on patient’s pleasure. Our study Showed that the changes in the pressure values of the anterior region, right and left segments did not have an effect on the restoration fracture. The survival rate of PLVs was 98.3%. It was observed that smoking was effective in marginal coloration. Patient pleasure was determined as 100%. Correct indication, correct patient choic, dentist’s speciality, knowledge, skills, experience, appropriate material choice and development of materials are quitely basic criteria on success of PLV restoration.
