The history and epidemiology of marijuana use will be discussed. The neurophysiology of and Functionssub served by cannabinoids will be reviewed. Adverse and potentially beneficial medicalconsequences will be examined with particular attention directed to pain. An approach for medicalproviders to appropriately recommend and then manage medical use is introduced. Finally,outcomes of legalized medical and recreational use are considered.
