Abstract
The Aging Athlete’s Performance: Swifter? Higher? Stronger? Or Just Getting by?
Athletic enhancement is a quest for all athletes, young and old, from the Olympian to the weekend warrior, from the nouveau master athlete who is just past 25 years old to the seasoned senior (or veteran) athlete over 40. As sport scientists, clinicians, or trainers, it is our charge to not only discover answers to emerging questions via the scientific process but also to provide practical information to the end users, the aging athletes, in order to help them reap the benefits of athletic participation with minimal injuries.
