Abstract
Swarm of Salps in the Northern Arabian Sea During Winter Season of February 2011
Samples were gathered to identify the diversity and distribution of salps in the Northern Arabian Sea during February 2011, the survey was made by FORV Sagar Sampada (Cruise No. 284). During the survey period, 15 species of the shops were identified among them the dominant species was Pegea confoederata with higher abundance followed by Metcalfina hexagone and Iasis zonaria. The abundance of salps was increased from south to north most stations and it was varied between 10.05 and 609.93ind.m-3.
