Abstract
Sudan ranks number two in world’s camel population. Camel pox is endemic in the Sudan and it assumes great importance, especially with regard to camels export. Six camel pox virus (CPVs) isolates were isolated from camels demonstrating camel pox skin lesions. The isolation was carried out in embryonated chicken eggs chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) , and Vero cells then they were identified by Agar Gel Precipitation Test (AGPT) ; Virus neutralization test and Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR).
