Abstract
Interstitial Cystitis or Bladder pain syndrome is a clinical condition including heterogeneous group of patients with primary complaint of pelvic pain, which is thought both by clinician and the patient to be originating from the urinary bladder. The disease happens to be present for a long time during the history of mankind and it has been documented in English literature since the nineteenth century. Joseph Parrish, in 1938 had described a condition ‘tic duloureux of bladder’, where in the patient suffered from severe painful urinary symptoms in the absence of bladder stone.
