Abstract
Botanicals in Food Supplements: Criticisms and Novelties from Two Up-Dated Conferences
The use of botanicals (herbs and algae) in food supplements is an argument that is receiving more and more attention, as indicated by the number of publications and meetings related to the topic. In Europe there is a substantial presence of plant and plant extracts in dietary supplements, representing, in some Countries, about half of these products. Two recent international conferences, organized by CEC Editore (Milano, I) in occasion of the NUCE meeting (Milano, I, September 24-26) confirmed the interest of the audience in receiving updated information on the matter.
