Abstract
Animal Welfare: What do Environmental Colors Mean for Fish?
Animal Welfare is not an easy concept. The science of animal welfare is relatively new, once it has started to develop in the 60’s, probably as a consequence of the publication of the book Animal Machines, which exposed several practices that ignored animal suffering. Since then, there has been an unceasing search aiming to identify the welfare conditions of the animals. In this way, researchers have found different welfare indicators. However, there are many issues involving such indicators, once both physiological and behavioral parameters showed to be not unequivocal.
