Abstract
Sediments are defined as the earth’s materials such as sand, gravel, and lime that are carried and settled down by wind, water or gravity. In due course, they assemble and then cemented to form sedimentary rocks. In aquatic ecosystems, continuous sedimentation of organic and inorganic substances takes place. Marine sediments are these unconsolidated organic and inorganic particles that accumulate on surface of the ocean. These sediments results from the biological activity, weathering and erosion of the continents, the volcanic eruptions and the chemical processes that take place within the ocean
