Through the study of plant genetics, breeding, and biotechnology, scientists aim to develop improved crop varieties with traits such as disease resistance, drought tolerance, and higher yields. Genetic engineering techniques, such as CRISPR-Cas9, offer unprecedented opportunities to manipulate plant genomes, accelerating the development of desirable traits.
Additionally, precision agriculture and remote sensing technologies enable farmers to optimize resource utilization by employing datadriven decision-making processes. Techniques like satellite imagery, drones, and sensors provide valuable information on soil moisture, nutrient content, and pest infestations, allowing for targeted interventions and reduced environmental impact.
Soil science
