Menstruation is a physiological process which involves periodic discharge of blood from the inner lining of uterus through vaginal tract. It occurs in females and start with the onset of sexual maturity and stops at the menopause. The process involves a complete 30 days menstrual cycle which involves the development of inner lining of uterus called endometrium that provides support to the fetus in its implantation and development inside the female body. In case of the absence of pregnancy, the endometrium wall breaks down and results in periodic menstrual flow.
