Abstract

Maternal and Umbilical Cord Blood Level of Leptin and C-Reactive Protein in Preeclamptic Sudanese Women

Objective: To determine maternal and umbilical cord blood levels of leptin and C-reactive protein in healthy pregnant women and preeclamptic patients. Material and methods: Thirty eight healthy pregnant controls, 68 mild and 25 with severe preeclampsia women were involved in this case-control study. Levels of leptin and CRP in maternal and cord blood were determined by ELISA and a sandwich-format immunometric method, respectively.
