Biography
Prof Zhongdong Wang received her BEng degree in High Voltage Engineering and MSc degree in in High Voltage Technologies from Tsinghua University of Beijing China in 1991 and 1993, respectively and her PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from UMIST in 1999. She joined The University of Manchester (then UMIST) in 2000 and currently she is a Professor of High Voltage Engineering at the Electrical Energy and Power Systems Group of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Manchester. Her current research interests include condition monitoring techniques, thermal, electrical transient and magnetic modeling techniques for transformers, insulation ageing mechanisms and alternative liquid insulating materials.
Research Interest
Prof Zhongdong Wang's research interests include: Power Transformers, Insulating Liquids especially enviromentally-friendly alternatives to mineral oil, pre-breakdown and breakdown phenomena, thermal, electrical transient and magentic modelling, ageing and asset management.
