Biography
Sunny Iyuke is a professor of Chemical and Process Engineering and the Head of School (HoS) of Chemical & Metallurgical Engineering of the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Dr. Sunny Iyuke has produced several patents in nanotechnology locally and internationally including World Intellectual Property Organization of International Bureau. At Wits and other parts of the world he has graduated several masters and PhD (blacks, coloured, Indian and white) students. From 2008 to 2010 he has secured more than R3.7 million worth grant for his research from both National Research Foundation (NRF) and Industries. He collaborates in research with NASA, USA, Vaal University of Technology (VUT), Schools of Chemistry and Pharmacy at Wits, Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Pretoria, and Institute of Fuel of the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Malaysia. Prof Iyuke is a registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with UK Engineering Council, London. He is also the vice president of Council of the South African Institution of Chemical Engineers. He is one of the top nanotechnologist in South Africa.
