Biography

AMM Sharif Ullah was born and raised in Bangladesh. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in late 1992. In early 1993, he moved to Japan for graduate studies. Accordingly, he received his Master and Doctor of Engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Major: Manufacturing) from Kansai University Graduate School in early 1996 and 1999, respectively. He moved to Thailand in 2000 and started working as a full-time faculty member at Asian Institute of Technology (2000-2002, Assistant Professor). In late 2002, he moved to United Arab Emirates and joined United Arab Emirates University (2002-2006, Assistant Professor, 2006-2009, Associate Professor). He again moved to Japan in 2009 and joined Kitami Institute of Technology as a full-time faculty member (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering), where he is still continuing. He directs the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Research Laboratory at Kitami Institute of Technology. He has been offering courses related to product realization engineering (creativity, design, manufacturing, operations, sustainability, and systems) for both undergraduate/graduate students. He has been mentoring a large number of undergraduate/graduate students toward their theses. His research field is knowledge-based systems for product realization engineering. He has published about 100 articles in reputed journals, books, and conference proceedings. He maintains memberships with AAAI, JSME, JSPE, and JSAT.

Research Interest

AMM Sharif Ullah research interest includes Computational Intelligence, DNA Computing, Chaotic Signal Processing, Fuzzy-Monte-Carlo Simulation, Multiple Criteria Decision-Making, Internet-Aided Manufacturing Systems.
