Remzi Varol is a full time Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Suleyman Demirel University in Isparta,Turkey where he has been a faculty member since 1992. Dr. Varol completed his Ph.D. at Selcuk University in Agust 1991, he undergraduated from Akdeniz University in 1982 and completed Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Technical university of Istanbul in 1984. Since 1983, he had worked as a research assistant at Akdeniz and Selcuk Universities. After that he has worked  Assistant Prof., Assoc. Prof. and full time Proffessor at Mechanical Engineering Department of S. Demirel University since 1992.  He became Department Chair, Dean of Engineering Faculty at  S.Demirel and Bartin  Universities. Dr. Varol has served on roughly twenty conference and symposium program committees. He has also served on the Executive Committee for several conferences. He has more than 150  journal and conference papers in English and in Turkish. He is a reviewer of several journals and conferences. Besides that he is also editor of two proceedings (in Turkish).  

His research interests lie in the area of part production by Powder Metallurgy, Mechanical and Thermal  Surface Treatments, Fatigue of Metals, Implant Materials, Strengtening mechanisms of metallic materials.  . In recent years, he has focused on grain refinement of metallic materails by severe shot peening. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of materials science, particularly manufacturing of implants by PM using Ti and Stainless Steels.
