Biography
Dr. Rahena Akhter BDS, PhD and now she is working as a Lecturer, Full-time Academic in the School of Dentistry and Health Sciences, Charles Sturt University, Orange NSW, Australia. She is also holding an honorary lecturer position in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Sydney at the same time. From 2009-2012, She worked as a lecturer and postdoctoral fellow in the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Sydney. From 2007-2009, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Preventive Dentistry, Okayama University, Japan. She worked as a lecturer in Bangladesh Dental College, Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2001-2002. She has achieved "Japan Government Monbusho scholarship" in 2002 and completed PhD in 2007 from Hokkaido University, Japan. Dr. Rahena was awarded for her contribution to the TMJ field by the international Association for Dental Research (IADR) in Baltimore, USA in 2005, 2nd Asian Research Award in Tehran, Iran in 2006 and most recently IADR Neuroscience Investigator Award in USA in 2011 and 2nd Asian Academy of Temporomandibular Disorder Best Research Award in Japan in 2011. Dr. Rahena is an active member of various international societies (e.g., RACDS, IASP, IADR, AAPD etc).
