Michail N. Varras is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Elena Venizelou General Maternity Hospital, Athens, Greece. Dr Michail Varras received his Medical Degree (M.D.) in Medical School, Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr. Varras received a Medical Doctorate in Molecular Biology of gynecological tumors from the Medical School, University of Crete, Greece. Dr. Varras continued his postgraduate training and received a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in “Health Management” from the Economic School, University of Piraeus, Greece and a Master of Sciences (M.Sc.) Degree in “Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine”, Medical School, Kapodistreiakon University of Athens. Currently he is working as specialist Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at “Elena Venizelou” General Maternity State Hospital, Athens, Greece.

A primary focus of Dr. Michail Varras research is the molecular anatomy in benign and malignant tumors of the female genital tract and correlation with clinical and pathological patients’ parameters. Specifically, he is interested in the effects of IGF system expression in placentas of normal and abnormal pregnancies. Also, his research interests lie in the fetal developmental malformations and in very rare clinical cases in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
