Biography
In a resolve to strengthen the examination system, the meeting of the Principals of affiliated colleges of University of Jammu, which are running undergraduate programmes, was convened by Controller Wing in the Seminar Hall of the Computer Science Department . Prof. Manoj Dhar, Controller of Examinations, in his PowerPoint Presentation, highlighted the latest initiatives taken by the examination wing. Prof. Dhar highlighted the importance of this meeting as the Undergraduate examinations are drawing near and strategy needs to be chalked out for the smooth and efficient conduct of the examinations. Further, this meeting, he opined, will help in assessing the academic achievements and accordingly help in deciding about the dates of holding the examinations. Based on the recommendations of the Principals, the tentative dates for holding Part I, II and III year examinations were fixed in the month of March. The colleges were requested to complete the internal assessment and practical examinations well in time. Prof. Dipanker Sen Gupta, OSD to COE sought cooperation from Principals in accommodating maximum number of Students in the Colleges for the conduct of Examinations and requested the Principals to depute the teachers for the speedy evaluation so that the results can be declared in time. Various other issues which are relating to the examination system were also taken up for discussion. Prof. Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal of the Colleges, appreciated the efforts of the University in improving the examination system and assured full cooperation of College Principals in the smooth conduct of the examination and implementation of various strategies. Sh. G. L Sharma, Senior most Principal and member University Council, brought to the notice some of the problems being faced by the Colleges and sought help from University Authorities in resolving these issues.
