Research Interest

Dr. Gault has an interest in human genetics. Her research is currently focused on the genetics of stroke, including the genes contributing to cerebral cavernous malformations. She is just now completing a separate NIH study investigating the characterization of a treatment-response biomarker in patients with schizophrenia, addressing a critical barrier to successfully treating schizophrenia; determining the optimal dose of antipsychotic medications. Previous studies that she has published focus on the genetic components of these diseases.
