Iván Fernández-Vega received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Medicine both from Oviedo University in Spain. Following his period to the Basque Country in 2013, he spent 3 years as a Consultant pathologist in the Department of Pathology at Hospital Universitario de Araba. He came back to Oviedo joining the faculty at the University of Oviedo where he is currently an associated professor and becoming a consultant pathologist at Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias. He has authored over 45 scientific papersand is a member of 5 journal editorial boards. Dr. Fernández-Vega has received numerous prestigious professional awards, including the 3rd Best Poster Prize in the IAP/ESP Congress in Cologne (Germany), to "GP-HELPER (v1.2): The new medical app about general pathology" (29-9-2016).
