Dr. Bellamkonda K. Kishore is a Research Professor of Medicine and Principal Investigator at the University of Utah Health Sciences and VA Medical Centers, Salt Lake City, Utah. He obtained his MBBS and M.D. in India, and Ph.D. in Belgium. A Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), Dr. Kishore has more than 30 years of kidney research experience gained in India, Japan, Belgium and the USA. He is a member of the editorial boards of several kidney journals, and Federal Advisory Committee (BLR&D and CSR&D Merit Review Board) of the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Directing an internationally recognized research program on the role of purinergic signaling in renal physiology and pathophysiology, and in obesity and insulin resistance, resulting in patents for novel drug targets.
