Dr. Ausim Azizi current research is focused on investigation of cell-based therapies for repair and regeneration of the damaged central nervous system. Dr. Ausim is exploring the signaling pathways of differentiation of adult stem cells into useful neural cells, and the feasibility of neurotransplantation of adult stem cells obtained from bone marrow and other sources for future treatment of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease as well as brain trauma and stroke.
