Abstract
Determinants of Spending at two South African Marine National Parks
Despite the rapidly growing number of nature-loving visitors, there is nevertheless stiff competition between nature-based attractions, especially the national parks. However, although many studies of spending behaviour have been done in other tourism fields, using a variety of methods, research on determinants of spending at national parks is sparse. This study identifies determinants of spending at two popular marine parks in South Africa, the Tsitsikamma National Park and the Wilderness National Park. Especially relevant is that the study used multiple methods to identify the determinants and associated tourist preference variables.
