Abstract
Cytochrome P4502E1 and Other Xenobiotics Metabolizing Isoforms in Pathogenesis of Male Reproductive Disorders
Last decades investigations demonstrated significant decreasing of men fertility and sperm quality. Approximately, 50% clinically confirmed infertility cases are attributed to the male partners. Male infertility pathogenesis is investigated insufficiently; its direct interrelation with such pathologies as varicocele or urogenital infections was demonstrated only in 23% of cases. At present, it is supposed that different etiologic factors (including idiopathic) could start similar processes, which final result would be spermatozoids quality, and/or quantity decreasing. The present review discusses possible impact of cytochrome P-450 xenobiotics modulation effects directly in male reproductive organs, suggesting it as one of the mechanisms of subfertility development.
