Journals on Biodiversity
Biodiversity describes the variability among living organisms and the ecosystems of which they are part. Three conceptual levels of biodiversity are recognized - ecosystem, species and genetic. It encompasses the variations within and among all living organisms at their totally different levels of biological organisation – genes, species, populations, communities, habitats and ecosystems – additionally their interactions. As biodiversity provides the fundamental building blocks for the many goods and services a healthy environment provides, it is both essential for the existences and intrinsically valuable in its own right. Biodiversity is central to ecosystem functioning. A diverse ecosystem can prevent and recover from lots of disasters. There are three levels at which biological variety can been identified: species diversity, ecosystem diversity, and genetic diversity.
