Ovary Enclavement in the Ovarian Fossa: Another Unknown Complication

Abstract The enclavement of the ovary in the ovarian fossa is a complication of adnexal disease that has virtually never been reported before. Herein, we present a video and a report on a unique case of a 26-year-old patient admitted to the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University Hospital Farhat Hached, Sousse, Tunisia with acute abdominal pain suggestive of adnexal torsion. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only case reported in the literature so far. Laparosopy confirmed the diagnosis and surgical exploration revealed an ovary landlocked in its ovarian fossa.
