Biography
William D. Norwood received his Ph.D. from the University of Houston and is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas. He completed his internship training in clinical and forensic psychology at the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons’ eastern psychiatric facility for federal detainees at Butner, North Carolina (now the Butner Federal Correctional Complex), and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Research Interest
Dr. Norwood’s interests include problems at the intersection of psychology and law (e.g., antisocial behavior, substance abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness, forensic psychological assessment), empirically-supported treatments for multi-problem populations (e.g., children of battered women; homeless substance abusers), and behavioral interventions targeting mindfulness and acceptance processes (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
