Biography

Dr. Sergio Pennazio is born in Turin (Italy) in 1937. In 1956 he qualified as chemist and worked as technician in a pharmaceutical company until the admission to University of Turin, biology faculty, going to work to chemistry faculty of the University. In 1967, Dr. Sergio Pennazio took a degree in Biology with a dissertation on biological chemistry, and in the same year, he entered the National Research Council, in Turin, and began to research in the plant virology field. He obtained the degree of chief of research following his research on the biochemistry of virus-infected plants publishing about 100 works, published in the most part in international journals. Retired from the active research, he took interest in the history of plant biology, in particular plant virology and physiology, and has hitherto published about 100 reviews.
