He is awarded PhD in 1980 History of Science, Princeton University. In 1987 he was Visiting Associate Professor, Honors College, UCLA. Currently he is associate with Professor of Physiology, Michigan State University. 

Dr. Robert Root-Bernstein research interests are Peptide-neurotransmitter-drug interactions. AIDS; molecular complementarity; chemical basis of physiological interactions between peptides, monoamines, and drugs; theoretical and experimental approaches to autoimmunity and its suppression; historical and philosophical perspectives on science and its methods.
