Biography

Dr. Matthew Wilson is a professor of ophthalmology at the Hamilton Eye Institute at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He serves as the director of ocular oncology at the Hamilton Eye Institute and St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, and is the St Jude Children's Research Hospital Endowed Chair in Pediatric Ophthalmology. Dr. Wilson completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at Emory University in Atlanta. He completed three fellowships: ophthalmic pathology at Emory University, ocular oncology at Moorfields Eye Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital in London and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Casey Eye Institute/Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Ore. Dr. Wilson has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed articles and edited and presented more than 100 abstracts nationally and internationally. He received the Senior Achievement Award from the Academy in 2009.
