Research Interest
Dr. Nooner's research as director of the Trauma & Resilience Laboratory explores the neurocognitive and psychosocial mechanisms involved in risk and resilience following trauma and abuse. Dr. Nooner works to integrate neuroscience with evidence based assessments and interventions for traumatized and maltreated youth. Dr. Nooner explores brain networks and cognitive capacities associated with trauma and related difficulties including attention problems, eating disorders, substance use, suicide, and other health-risk behaviors. Dr. Nooner is also interested in evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents with difficulties pertaining to attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders and substance use.
