Biography
Dr. Józef Oleksyszyn is a Professor of Biochemistry, Head of Division of Medicinal Chemistry and Microbiology, Faculty of Chemistry, Politechnika WrocÅ‚awska, WrocÅ‚aw University of Technology, Poland.
His academic instruction ranged from undergraduate to graduate courses in organic chemistry, general chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, to organic chemistry for chemistry majors. At the university he managed several research projects involving the interaction of senior investigators from academia and industry. At OsteoArthritis Sciences Inc. responsible for organization of the medicinal chemistry department including lab setup and hiring new employees.
Research Interest
The primary interests are in the use of enzyme inhibitors as potential drugs. Design and synthesis of inhibitors for proteolytic enzymes including proteolytic enzyme inhibitors as the next generation of immunoregulators, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anticancer drugs. In addition, new anticancer drugs, enzyme inhibition kinetics, and computer modeling based rational drug design, synthetic organic chemistry, combinatorial chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, and phosphorus chemistry.
