Biography
Dr. D. Gent Dotson is currently a tenure-track professor in the College of Health Science’s Department of Rehabilitation Studies at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. He teaches courses in the Bachelor of Science degree program in Rehabilitation Services with a concentration in addiction studies. Dr. Dotson received his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Rehabilitation Institute at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he studied under the nationally renowned addiction scholar Dr. D. Shane Koch. Dr. Dotson was the 2007 recipient of the Guy A. Renzaglia Scholarship for outstanding doctoral work and served as the assistant editor for the Journal of Teaching in Addictions from 2006 until 2008. He currently serves on the board of the Alabama School for Alcohol and other Drugs Studies.
